Let's Hang Out Friday...
Hello Tribe,
So, yeah, I told you guys that part two won't be a long wait and I delivered. It's dropping this Friday, January 29th. So, prepare your hearts like always and savor each word like it's your last meal. Below is a sneak peek for you all to enjoy. I can't wait to hear your thoughts.
XOXO Charae
I sat quietly as she disappeared down a hallway. A couple of the stylists surveyed me, provoking me to feel self-conscious. Discreetly, I pulled out my phone and checked my appearance through my camera just to ensure that there was nothing on my face.
The door chimed, causing everyone’s attention to divert there. A woman walked in, grinning as she made her way toward the floor.
“Hey, y'all. Where is Esha?”
Suddenly, I recognized her as the woman me and Kadon had run into when we went to the Cash Trap Lounge. She looked beautiful just like the last time, wearing a nude body con dress and Fendi purse with the matching sandals. Her long weave was draped over her shoulder and her face was lightly made up.
“She’s in the back,” one of the girls answered her.
“Okay, ‘cause I wanna see if she can squeeze me in real quick.”
I watched as her eyes voyaged through the room and landed on me. My chest tightened when her stare centered on my visage. There was nothing friendly or inviting about her gaze. She advanced toward me, making my heart rate skyrocket. The scent of her loud perfume hit my nose before she invaded my space and leaned down toward my face.
“Kadon sent you here?” she asked in a low voice.
I shook my head, wondering why she would ask such a thing.
“Then why the fuck are you here?”
I didn’t like her tone, so I replied, “I'm at a salon. Why do you think I'm here?”
Her head jerked back slightly. “Bitch, are you getting slick with me? You think because you was on Kadon’s arm for just one night that you got the juice? Don’t get dragged in this bitch.”
I opened my mouth to retort but Esha had emerged from the back. I didn’t want to cause any drama in her shop, especially since this was my first time visiting.
“Hey, Ang, what you doing in here?” Esha asked, not knowing me and her were having a debate.
Ang plastered a fake smile on her face before she turned and said to Esha, “Nothing girl. I was just wondering if you had any openings and can squeeze me in?”
“Oh, girl you came too late. I'm about to hook my girl, Cyra up. Sorry boo.”
Ang glanced at me and I shot her a smug smirk. I didn’t like anything about this woman and her attitude.
“Oh, well, she needs it,” Ang shot.
“The same way you do. That's why you came in here, right?” I countered.
“Ladies, what the hell?” Esha intervened. “Why all the sudden shade?”
“Yeah, tell her Ang, why all this shade is being thrown my way?” I goaded her.
I didn’t know what her problem was, but I knew it had something to do with Kadon.
Ang waved her hand. “Girl, bye. I don’t have time for this. Esha I’ll call you later to set up an appointment.”
“Okay, girl.”
Ang sashayed out the salon without giving me another glance. Esha softly nudged my shoulder.
“Girl what was that about? How do you know Angela?”
“I don’t know her.”
“Well, why did she throw shade at you then?”
I shrugged. “I don’t have a clue.”
She looked at me through the mirror with twisted lips to say as if I was lying. I actually was telling the truth. I knew nothing about Angela. The only thing I recall about her is getting dismissed from Kadon at the lounge.
